The House Always Wins
Horror/Thriller Feature
By Scott Gordon Richards
There’s a saying: The House Always Wins.
With themes of Addiction and dark, visual tones of an old colonial mansion, The House Always Wins is a feature film about a Ghost Hunter who get in over his head in a house that traps him with deadly purpose.
Upon hearing about an old, haunted house, Jaxon thinks he may have found the one that hides the Stone of Madness, an item he hopes will cure his sister, who was scared insane by a ghost when they were kids.
Jaxon and his team find the house, but a group of party-hungry college students crash their investigation before it starts.
Each room in the house hosts casino games and free booze that thoroughly hook the students. Jaxon, a recovering gambling addict, decides to come back another day. But when they try to leave, all exits have vanished.
Jaxon refuses to play, but when one of his team goes against orders and loses all his money at blackjack, the house murders him in gruesome fashion.
Bit by bit, Jaxon exposes the house’s secrets until he uncovers a dreadful reality – the house is NOT haunted, it’s possessed by a DEMON, and he has no idea how to deal with it.
It’s a race to learn how to defeat the demon, find the Stone of Madness, and get out before the house kills them all.
He devises a way to win, but it’s still a gamble, and losing the bet also means losing his soul.
His play works, but the results are not what was promised. So he cheats his way to freedom, leaving one of the Students behind. Jaxon vows to save her but the house completely disappears.
